How can I register to sell or buy a pony?

A: To register, it's quite simple. Please go to the homepage, under the "Register" section, and create a user account by providing a valid email address and password. Follow the steps outlined in the Procedure to follow below.

What personal data do I need to provide to activate my account?

A: You will need to fill in your personal information such as your first and last name, address, date of birth, phone number, email, account number, and identification card number. If you are a professional, please provide your company name, status, address, and VAT number.

Why do you need my identification card and personal data?

A: We require your personal data to verify your identity. Knowing the identity of each participant helps create a safer virtual environment for everyone involved. It provides security for sellers by minimizing the risk of fraudulent bids, and also for buyers, as it allows E-Shetlands to clearly identify them and deliver lots transparently.

How do you protect my personal data?

A: The connection is encrypted using SSL (https).

Personal data is securely stored in a secure database.

Strong passwords are required (reducing the risk of password compromise).

A limited number of login attempts is allowed (protection against random attempts).

Passwords are encrypted in a one-way manner (it is not possible to retrieve the used password).

State-of-the-art technologies are employed to enhance security.

How can I modify my personal information after registration?

What does the selective sale mean? 

A: Selective sale simply means that it is our team that selects the ponies that will be offered for sale. Not all registered ponies will necessarily be chosen. We evaluate each request individually, considering various criteria such as size, pony quality (overall beauty, gaits), and also its origins, in order to offer the best options.

How do I create a sales request?

A: If you want to offer your pony for sale, please go to your account, under the "Ponies for Sale" tab. Fill in your pony's details and add any attachments, and we'll take care of the rest. We evaluate each request individually and list the selected ponies on our platform. You will be notified by email whether your pony has been chosen or not!

Can I sell multiple ponies at the same time?

A: Absolutely, you can sell as many ponies as you want. To do so, you must be the owner of the ponies, and each pony must go through the selection process.

What are the selection criteria for ponies listed on the sales platform?

A: We evaluate each request individually, considering various criteria such as size, pony quality (overall beauty, gaits), and also their origins.

What is the cost of selling a pony?

A: To offer one of your ponies for sale, you need to pay the registration fee (per pony). The price is 49€ (including taxes) per pony. If your pony is not selected, this amount will be fully refunded to you.

How will I know if my pony has been chosen for sale?

A: You will be notified by email if your pony has been selected for sale. Make sure to regularly check your inbox, including the spam folder, so that you don't miss any communication from us.

My pony was not chosen for sale, why?

A: We evaluate each request individually, considering various criteria such as size, pony quality (overall beauty, gaits), and also their origins. As it is a selective sale and because we are aiming to offer a wide range of quality ponies, we have limitations in terms of the number of ponies per gender and coat color. Therefore, it's advisable to register as soon as possible to avoid rejection due to limited availability.

How can I participate in the auction?

A: Once you are a registered user and your account has been activated, you can view our exclusive selection of ponies available for auction. On the day of the auction, you can place bids on the ponies you are interested in by following the instructions provided on our platform.

When will the auction take place?

A: The specific dates of the auctions will be announced on our platform. We recommend regularly checking our website or subscribing to our social media channels to stay informed about upcoming auctions.

When does the auction end?

A: If, within the last 5 minutes of the announced end time of an auction lot, a new bid is placed on that lot, the auction will be extended by 5 minutes, until there are no new bids for 5 minutes. So, it's not necessary to wait until the last second to place your bid.

What is the purchasing cost of a pony?

A: If you place the winning bid during the auction and, after verification by a public officer, you are declared the buyer, you are responsible for paying the commission fee of 10% (in addition to the amount of the final bid).

Who decides the selling price?

A: It is always the seller who decides the selling price (initial amount, listing price), of course. It is the minimum amount at which the seller wants to sell their pony. Bidders then bid above this initial amount (with a minimum bid increment of €50). The initial amount is mentioned inclusive of VAT (21%).

The final auction price is not high enough for me. Can I withdraw my pony from the auction?

A: No, there is no option to withdraw once a bid has been placed. Even a single bid increment of €50 can conclude the sale. You should choose an initial amount that suits you best from the beginning.

Why are the prices of the ponies not displayed?

A: Don't worry, the prices will be visible a few days before the auction. We recommend regularly checking our website or subscribing to our social media channels.

Can I contact the seller and come to see the pony BEFORE the sale?

A: Yes, of course, we will be happy to facilitate the meeting between you and the pony's seller. Please contact us via email at info@e-shetlands.com, and we will put you in touch.

I saw a pony that interests me, but I still have several questions about it. Who can I ask?

A: If you have further questions about a pony, you can contact us via email at info@e-shetlands.com. In collaboration with the seller, we will be happy to answer all your additional questions.

I purchased a pony through your platform, but I don't know any transporters. Could you help me arrange transportation?

A: Absolutely! We are here to support you at every step and make your auction experience enjoyable. The transportation costs are your responsibility as the buyer; however, we can assist you in finding a transporter or organizing cost-effective group transportation. Is it possible to receive notifications for new auctions?

A: Yes, you can receive email notifications for new auctions every 30 minutes. To activate this feature, please go to your account, click on the "Notifications" tab, and check the box that says "Receive email notification for new auctions every 30 minutes."

 

Procedure to Follow

Do you want to sell your pony or do you want to buy one? Here's how to proceed:

  1. Registration: Use the "Sign Up" button to create a user account. You will need a valid email address and a password. The password must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one letter, one digit, and one special character. Don't forget to confirm that you have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions of Use, as well as consenting to the use of your personal data by checking the designated boxes. Afterward, you will receive a confirmation email (valid for 30 minutes) at your email address. Remember to check your spam folder. Click on "Verify Registration" and you're done! Your registration has been successfully completed. You can now log in to your account.

  2. Providing Additional Information and Verification: Before you can list a pony for sale or place a bid, you need to activate your account. To do this, you must fill in your personal information. We will proceed to verify your information and activate your account. You can now use our platform and take full advantage of all its benefits!

  1. Sale Request: If you want to offer your pony for sale, please go to your account, under the "Ponies for Sale" tab. Fill in the details of your pony (its name, gender, date of birth, coat color, official height, titles, and a free description), add attachments (a photo of its pedigree - parents' page, a photo from each side, a photo of the teeth, a video of walking back and forth, additional photos, and videos) and we will take care of the rest. We evaluate each sale request individually and will publish the selected ponies on our platform. You will be notified by email whether your pony has been selected or not!

  2. Auction: If you are a registered user and we have activated your account, you can browse our exclusive selection and participate in the auction on the specified day. Remember to activate your account in advance to make sure you don't miss the auction! Last-minute registrations will not be able to participate in the sale.

  3. Post-Sale and Post-Acquisition Assistance: We will assist you with all the necessary procedures after the sale to make this experience as comfortable and easy as possible.
